Cushing, Maine, United States

HIGHLIGHTS :br• Oceanfront family compound on five private acres; 700’ shorefrontbr• West-facing oceanfront means sunsets over the ocean!br• Deepwater dock system br• 5br Main house plus separate 2br guest cottagebr• Total of 8 bedrooms comprising:br. o 3 King Suites with private ensuite bathroomsbr. o 2 more King Bedrooms share a bathroombr. o 2 queen bedrooms in cozy “in law” cottagebr. o Bunk room with 4 Queen beds total (2 QUEEN SIZE bunk beds)br• Hot tub with spectacular view of sunset over the oceanbr• 2 bedroom “in law” cottage offers separate kitchen and living roombr• Recreation room includes full high-definition laser projector for gaming/home theaterbr• Super-fast 100mbps cable Internet in both buildings.brbrbrSATURDAY-TO-SATURDAY POLICY: Like almost all family-oriented vacation rentals on the coast of Maine, this property rents Saturday-to-Saturday only during high season (Memorial Day thru Labor Day), with a 1-week minimum. brbrPROPERTY DESCRIPTION:brHouse and separate guest cottage (both included in rental) share five private acres at the end of a peninsula, with 700’ of west-facing oceanfront! We rent the whole thing as a single family compound (6-br 5-ba Main house with rec room PLUS a 2br-1ba guest cottage). The property also features a deep-water dock (8' water depth at low tide at dockside). There's even a hot tub from which to enjoy the incredible sunsets!brbrYou will open your eyes each morning to breathtaking views of Davis Cove and the nearby islands of Muscongus Bay. There's a bald eagle who makes his nest high atop a tree right in front of our guest cottage, and there's a seal (his name is Neal) who is frequently seen just a short distance in front of our floating dock. brbrDo you like lobster Watch the fishermen tending their traps right out front or walk across the street and buy them from the local fishermen.brbrThe main house includes 5 King bedrooms with ocean views. Three of these King bedrooms are brand new construction in 2019 and include private en-suite bathrooms. One of them even has a Jacuzzi hot tub/spa! Two more King bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom. 6th bedroom is a bunk room consisting of 2 queen size bunk beds (4 beds total). The main house offers the larger kitchen and dining area of the two buildings. There is even a lobster cooker big enough to cook enough lobster for the entire family at once! brbrThe second included building is a cozy 650 sq ft 2-br, 1-ba guest cottage with kitchen/dining area, living room, and massive wrap-around deck, hot tub, and gas grille. The cottage itself sleeps 4, offering a queen bed in each of 2 bedrooms. It’s fully equipped and has everything that you will need to prepare delicious meals, including all new appliances in 2016. The large deck overlooks the ocean and includes a barbecue grill, outside dining area, hot tub and Adirondack chairs. The cottage is one level, and offers excellent accessibility (ground level, no stairs) for families that include people with limited mobility. The larger main building is accessed by stairs and the living spaces are on the 2nd and 3rd floors to enable spectacular ocean views.brbrThe cottage has been particularly popular with groups who wanted to give someone in the group their 'own space'. We've seen everyone from the new parents with the screaming newborn to the grandparents to the in-laws given their own private living space for the sake of everyone's comfort in the super-accessible cottage, while the rest of the family enjoys the much larger main house about 120 feet from the cottage.brbrThe recreation room with full HD digital laser projector for the kids’ gaming gear offers a perfect place to send the kids if you want to reserve some “adult time” on the cottage deck to take in the beautiful sunsets from the hot tub. Tell the kids to bring their xBox or other gaming equipment with HDMI output to hook up to our projector. It's also a home theater system with Netflix.brbrIt’s a great place to go ocean kayaking. We can’t provide you with kayaks for liability reasons, but we would be happy to arrange a local rental, and the company we work with will even deliver your kayaks right to the property. We can arrange to have them waiting for you when you arrive.brbrThe family compound lies on 5 very private acres of lawn and mature trees for you and your family to enjoy with 700’ of shore frontage, a deep water dock. The private location is perfect for a peaceful, relaxing getaway, but also just a short drive from enjoying everything that Midcoast Maine has to offer, such as Rockland, which features the annual Blues Festival, Lobster Festival, and the Boats, Homes & Harbor Show. There are also Windjammer Days in nearby Boothbay and Camden harbors. You can take the ferry to several of the local islands, including Vinalhaven, Monhegan, and Islesboro, or visit the many lighthouses in and around the area. There are many art galleries and museums, such as the Owls Head Transportation Museum and the Lighthouse Museum. brbrThere are many hiking trails for you to enjoy in the area, including two small hiking loops within just a couple miles of this property. You can drive or climb Mt. Battie in Camden for amazing views, shop in the cute and quaint shops in downtown Rockland or Camden and enjoy a multitude of restaurants for your dining pleasure. You may also plan wonderful day trips to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Camden, Belfast, Boothbay, Damariscotta, Wiscasset and the list goes on. brbrThere is a binder of information on all of these things and more, located in the home to help you decide what to do first! brbrBoth buildings have 100mbps Internet. Both living rooms offer a smart television so you can access your Netflix, Hulu or similar account, but please note that due to the location, cable TV is not available.brbrPlease note that due to the proximity of the deep water and a rocky coast, children should be supervised for their own safety. Dogs accepted on a case by case basis.brbrOWNER'S SECRET:brJune, July and August are considered by most people to be THE months to vacation in Maine, but my favorite time to visit is September and October. To be clear, we're now talking about autumn in Maine, not summer in Maine. But the sky is clear, the air is dry, it seldom rains, and the hot tub and fireplace more than make up for the possibility of chilly weather. The tourists are all gone, there's no traffic, and the rent is much lower. Food for thought!brbrbrEARLY AND LATE SEASON RENTALS:brPlease note that our floating dock system, which offers a swim ladder and easy access to boating and swimming is seasonal. The floating docks are generally removed in mid-September and then re-installed in mid-May. If you are considering a stay before June 1 or after Labor Day, please be aware there is a possibility that the floating dock system will have been taken out of the water for the season.brbrbrThis property is offered for private residential use only. We can only rent to one group at a time, and subletting is not allowed. This is not a Party House. Big families are welcome (including family reunions) but this is not for bachelor parties or other loud functions. Please respect our neighbors when you visit and keep noise to a minimum. Outdoor security camera is located over driveway

Newly updated cottage directly on Maple Juice Cove

Cushing, Maine, United States

Welcome to this beautifully updated Mid-Century Ranch directly on Maple Juice Cove with over 200 feet of water frontage. Guests enjoy their own private 100-ft stationary wharf over the water (pictured) in addition to the 10X30 floating dock for direct access to the calm waters of Maple Juice Cove. Swim, kayak, innertube or just enjoy the views of nature as well as the comings and goings of the lobster fleet from Sheep’s Point. The property itself is 2 very private acres of lawn and gardens stretching along the waterfront, ideal for yard games, or just enjoying the ever changing water views.brbrThe cottage is located a short distance from all Midcoast Maine has to offer such as the towns of Rockland and Camden, with their vibrant art and restaurant scenes. For a more home-town feel, visit the even closer quaint towns of Damariscotta, Thomaston, Friendship (with Jameson Point Lobster) and the charming fishing village of Port Clyde. brbrCove Cottage is a 1950’s ranch home which was renovated in 2022. Currently there are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with a queen. Mattresses are memory foam and pillow-top Sealys, respectively. There is also an outbuilding bunk house with 2 twin beds. The bunk house is ventilated, insulated and secure but unheated. The bunk house may be furnished with either linens from the house, or the sleeping bags provided by the hosts. The one bath is large with a large shower. The lower level features a queen-size pull-out sofa, and a single chair that folds out into a twin cot. Window air conditioners in each bedroom are provided for your comfort. The fireplace in the living room is a fully functional wood-burning fireplace-a wonderful way to spend a fall evening.brbrThe cottage has been curated in a Danish-influenced American Mid Century style, including some original art from the Long Island art scene of the 1960s. Guests can appreciate the views from the deck and the screen-in porch. Due to low light pollution, on dark, clear nights the Starscape views from the wharf approximate those of a dark-sky preserve. The screened-in porch offers a bug-free dining and lounging outdoor option. There is also a large fire pit for the occasional bonfire. For your convenience we will provide the following: fully furnished kitchen, linens, (2) sleeping bags, bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, beach towels, your first tank of propane for the gas grill, dish soap, dish washing soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, a supply of toilet paper and paper towels, and one can of DEET bug spray. There are 2 kayaks/paddles on property, and 2 5-foot tractor tire rubber inner tubes for water enjoyment. We also have life jackets in a variety of sizes, including children's. Presently we offer the following: a full professional poker set; Boston Edition Monopoly; Cards Against Humanity and extension packs (for adults); Choking Hazard (also adults); Uno and others. In the alcove is a cocktail-table style Vintage Arcade on which 1 or 2 players may enjoy games such as Ms. Pacman, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Space Invaders, Centipede and 400 others. Fun for kids and a walk down memory lane for adults. For the sake of parents' sanity, the sound effects on the video arcade, which are original to each game, can be turned down or off altogether. brbrWasher and Dryer are on property and free. Detergent and dryer sheets are provided. brbrWhile we make every effort to assure the accuracy of this listing, as well as the condition of equipment and quality of provided services, we make no implied guarantee of connectivity for wireless internet, or services provided by a third party. We will do everything in our power to remedy any situation as quickly as possible, and we thank you for your understanding. Please wear the vest when using the kayaks and/or innertubes. Due to the tide, the depth of the cove is highly variable, and there are rocks. DO NOT dive from either the standing wharf or the floating dock.
