We're also in close proximity to Red Rock National Conservation Area, Tecopa Hot Springs, Ibex and Dumont dunes, and don't forget to visit Death Valley National Park when checking items off your bucket list. A little known fact - Badwater Basin in Death Valley National Park is the lowest elevation in North America sitting at 282.6 feet below sea level and is surprisingly close to the highest elevation in the contiguous (lower 48) United States which is Mount Whitney in the Sequoia National Park with an elevation of 14,505 feet. They are less than 88 miles (142 kilometers) apart with an elevation change approaching 15,000 feet. brbrArtesian Cellars Winery is so close to the Casita it's within walking distance. The winery offers tasting flights of up to 5 of their locally and regionally produced wines. I recommend starting with the dryer wines first and graduating to the sweeter wines. They have a fantastic selection of Flushies that I strongly recommend (Frozen sweetened wine slushies)! They have live music on Friday nights and offer small plates and charcutery boards with some of the most unique tastes you've ever experienced.brbrThe Pahrump Nugget is the only casino in Nye County with gaming tables and also offers slot play, bingo, bowling, sports betting and is home to one of the best steakhouses in town.brbrT-Mobile Arena, Home of the Vegas Golden Knights and the new Raiders Stadium are a mere hour from Pahrump. Well worth the drive to avoid the crowds of Vegas. It could take you over an hour to get there from North Las Vegas or Henderson in traffic.brIf you plan to visit Las Vegas I strongly recommend taking the scenic byway through Red Rock Canyon. It is absolutely breathtaking and only adds a few minutes to the drive. Simply turn left at Hwy 159 if traveling to Vegas on Hwy 160 from Pahrump.brbrIf you plan to utilize Dumont Dunes for OHV activities don't forget to pick up your pass. The only place in Pahrump they're available is Parker's Kawasaki located at 1201 S.
