(Note: Girdwood is 45 minutes from Anchorage). brbrEach bedroom has a queen bed with high quality linens and multiple types of pillows, and a full length mirror. The primary bedroom has a workstation to take virtual meetings or emails, separate from the main living area. The chaise in the primary bedroom is waiting for you to read a great book or take an afternoon nap. The bathrooms have towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and hair dryer. brbrRain or shine, The Seymour is light and bright inside and is a special place to relax and unwind, especially after a day outside in AK. Views from the many windows look out to mountains, trees, a creek and even glaciers. Sit outside on one of two private decks and enjoy the scenery in the fresh air. A three person hot tub is on the back deck. brbrThere are great restaurants in Girdwood, but if you choose to cook, we have what you’ll need. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, microwave, high end pots and pans, baking dishes, waffle maker, and over 20 spices. Clean up is made easy with a full size dishwasher and large sink.brbrFull size washer and dryer is on the top floor by the bedrooms. Laundry soap, a small ironing board and iron included. brbrThe Seymour is in a quiet building of five townhouses in the downtown core of Girdwood. It’s on three levels with stairs going to each. This is a great spot for couples or a family with older children. There is parking for up to two vehicles included with the unit. (Guests do not have access to the garage). Access to the townhouse is using the keypad on the front door. You won't have to carry keys during your stay. brbrIn the pantry, you’ll find tennis rackets and balls, a pickleball set and frisbee/disc golf set to use at the courts and course just a five minute walk from the place. There’s also a can of bear spray to take with you on your outdoor adventures, during your stay. If you want to stay inside, there's a Smart TV; log in to your favorite streaming service. (No local cable provided). There's also books, puzzles, and some board games to use during your stay.brbrSafety: There are smoke and carbon monoxide detectors inside the townhome. We have a security camera/recording device on the front and back exterior doors. There is a creek/open water behind the townhome. Our cute and cozy ski condo is located at a perfect spot on the base of Mt. Alyeska. This condo package includes everything needed to cook full meals, rest weary bodies, and to clean up from a long day of playing outside!brbrThe condo is an open studio, with all the modern amenities one can ask for. Recently upgraded 2 Gig high speed internet with WiFi 6 compatibility, which substantially improves the quality of internet and helping those working remotely. The proximity at the base of Mt. Alyeska places you in an ideal location for all mountain side activities. Roughly a 1 minute walk to chair 3! Also, the glacier valley transit system can take you anywhere in girdwood, the depot is 30 seconds outside the building. Last but most important, from this condos location, you will be within a 10 minute walk to the Girdwood Brewery!brbrThe condo itself comes with everything needed to cook meals. Fresh linens will be provided and also cable television and high speed internet. There is a communal sauna in the complex which all guests can use (be aware that although the sauna is functional, recent upgrades to the building have left some final touches unfinished.)brbrGuest will be given instructions via email, voice, or text on how to gain access to main building.brbrGirdwood is a great ski town and the vibe is very laid back. The neighborhood is very safe as crimes are typically very rare...this doesn't mean don't lock your doors though. My favorite place to visit on a nice summer sunny day is the patio of Jack Sprat, which happens to be about 20 seconds away from the condo! Beware of bears, moose, and other critters along the hiking paths as nature is unpredictable.brbrThe base of chair 3 is about a one minute walk from the condo, even faster than that on a bike. brbrThe Glacier Valley Transit System will provide you to anywhere in girdwood. Conveniently there is a pick up/drop off spot located about 30 seconds from the condo. More information is available by going to the glacier valley transit website. brbrThere are bike rentals available at Powder Hound ski shop, which is about a 1 minute walk away from the unit. There are bike trails throughout Girdwood and it is a great way get out and about.brbrA parking pass will be provided and will need to be displayed in the vehicle when parked on the premises. Towing is now strictly enforced on the premisses so it is imperative that a parking pass is placed in the vehicle during the duration of your stay. If the parking pass is not displayed and your vehicle is towed, you are responsible for all fees associated with retrieving your automobile. brbrAlso, upon check out leave the parking pass in the condo. If the parking pass is not left at the condo, a service fee will be taken out of the deposit for replacement. brbrThere is a gas fireplace in the condo and is available for guests to use. brbrDue to municipal code, there is no smoking within the condo association or the unit. Smoking outside of the condo 25 ft away from any entrance or on the deck is allowed. brbrTwo large dumpsters north of the condo about 50 yards away. These dumpsters are shared between both condo associations. You can see the dumpsters from the deck of the condo unit. Be sure to place any garbage in the dumpsters and not outside on the deck or left inside the common hallways. brbrThere are onsite coin operated washer and dryers available for guests.brbrDogs are not allowed.brbrPlease note there may be some noise coming from the upstairs tenants. This is due to the unit and building being built in the late 1970's when sound/noise prevention construction did not exist. The cabin was built in 1964, and it was raised in 1978 when a concrete slab was poured and a block foundation installed, creating a gift shop where tour buses would bring people on their way to and from the sites. Later, the lower level housed the bike shop. When the bike shop outgrew the space, it was converted to a two-bedroom dwelling unit, but we decided to retain the mural, which features a malamute that was owned by the local librarian.
