We thoughtfully laid out every square inch of space both indoors and out to make it as comfortable for those who want to disconnect from day-to-day life and reconnect with loved ones or close family friends.brbrThe 1500 sq ft space can accommodate up to two families of four by utilizing the pull out couch to sleep an additional two people. The three bedrooms provide comfortable sleeping arrangements for two in each room. The master has a king bed on the first floor with a private bathroom. The upstairs has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and the other ideal for kids, featuring a twin bed with a trundle. The bedrooms upstairs have access to a shared bathroom. On the first floor, in addition to the master, there is a family room, dining room and kitchen utilizing the open floor concept to provide a spacious feel.brbrIn the common areas, you'll find a fully stocked kitchen with tons of counter space for cooking, a living room with a pullout couch for sleeping and two chairs to enjoy the fireplace, settle down watching a movie or partake in a game night around the coffee table. There are two gas fireplaces for the primary heat source supplemented by heated flooring in the lower bathrooms and kitchen.brbrOUTDOOR amenities includes a fire pit surrounded by four adirondack chairs and three picnic tables located throughout the property. A large swing set is also onsite and positioned to provide a clear view from the kitchen. There is also a large outside open space on the other side of the cabin for both kids and adults to roam and play.brbrYou'll have ample opportunities to encounter the surrounding wildlife as deer and bunnies can often be spotted right in our yard!brbrGUEST ACCESSbrThere is ample parking spaces on site. A vehicle is required to navigate around the island and surrounding areas. Nestled peacefully toward the end of a forgotten beach road, this home brings the Olympic Mountains and Admiralty Inlet into every moment of your vacation. brThe 'Kingfisher' is so close to the beach that we built it on stilts and, from almost every angle of this angular home, you are greeted by water. At night, you will fall asleep to the chuckle of churning waves, and in the morning your eyes will open to soft light painted on the snow-capped Olympic Mountains. Once inside, you are surrounded by craftsmanship at its very best. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and baking, and the open floor plan allows you to be part of the action while you create. The main house has three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, a walk through closet for stowing your stowables, and a spacious walk-in shower to refresh you after your day of fun. Downstairs are two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and the other with two twin-size beds. The main level shower was designed after a Japanese shower room - large enough for multiples, with a deep soaking tub and showering area all in this same room. Feel free to let your kids splash until their splashers are tired, as this entire room was designed to get wet. This home was just completed and is now ready for you and your friends and family to relax at the beach.brbrWhile staying at the Kingfisher, you will experience this wonderful beach location with the comfort and privacy rarely experienced on beach property. Walk 200 yards south down the beach and you will be exploring over a mile of undeveloped, protected beach and tidelands. On any given walk, you and your friends and family will be sharing this space with kingfishers, eagles, osprey, seals, otters, and all of the tide-pool critters that live in the shallows of the Puget Sound. Keep your eyes on the water while you are cooking dinner or sitting on the deck and you might also see the porpoises patrol the beach. Please note that during the salmon run you can put on your hip-waders, secure a buzz bomb to your favorite pole, and cast with abandon. It is a well-kept, local secret that this beach yields some of the best salmon fishing on the island. If you have kayaks, bring them along, for a quick shove off from your beach will have you exploring some of the most beautiful coastline on South Whidbey. brbrThe house has WiFi and smart TV, and is the perfect place to sit by the fire and watch the game. I know you will be pleased with a stay here. brbrThis is a wonderful time of year to be on the Island, and the beach with its spectacular views will be beckoning you outside from your doorstep. I love to walk out at low tide, looking for sand dollars and seashells, the solitude broken only by the cry of Blue Heron and our local eagles. Our low tides can go ¼ mile out and yet the sand is very firm for beach combing. There are rubber boots in the closet for guests to use, but you may wish to bring your own foul weather gear for your comfort.brbrThe accommodations are in a beautifully remodeled two-bedroom guest cottage, with a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a couch that makes out into a queen bed, and a small bedroom with a twin bed with a trundle.
