The home has an open floor plan with huge sliders leading to a deck that overlooks the shoreline. You enjoy the gorgeous sunsets, listen to the waves, watch the lobster boats haul in their catch, or simply observe the many species of birds as they go about their business.brbrThe house is an easy walk or drive to Pemaquid Beach, but also has a small sandy beach that is part of the association where you can build sandcastles, hunt for sea glass and seashells, and dip your toes into the water. Also close by are locations where you can rent kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, golf, and hike.brbrThe house sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms. The two spacious upstairs rooms each have king-sized beds (with brand-new mattresses in summer 2020!), while there is a queen in one downstairs room and a queen and a bunkbed in the other. Three of the bedrooms have large-screen televisions that are Internet- or cable-connected. All three baths have showers and two of those have tubs (one jacuzzi tub!).brbrThe open living room has a large and comfy sectional and wood-burning stove. It is a great place to settle down for a movie on the large-screen TV after the day ends. The adjoining kitchen area includes a dining table with room for 8. The cherry wood and granite appointed kitchen has a large island and is fully equipped with Sub Zero refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, oven, and gas stove. The kitchen is also equipped with coffee maker, kitchenaid mixer, Instant Pot, Breville blender, and other accessories with a Traeger smoker just outside. Additionally, there is a washer and dryer and multiple Alexas in the house.brbrThe beautiful Pemaquid Lighthouse is less than two miles from the house and there are multiple lobster pounds and restaurants in the immediate area. Hardy Boat Cruises takes visitors to Monhegan Island and on seal and puffin watches. The villages of Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, and Wiscasset are in easy driving distance for sightseeing and fun activities.

***This is a new Listing in 2026 on VRBO but has been rented since 2009. brbrThis Artist Cottage was built in 1989 in Chamberlain, Maine as a destination for world-renowned stained glass window artist Albinas Elskus. Albin and his family began coming to Maine in the 1960's and purchased this property because of it's breathtaking views. Family-owned since, we hope our guests enjoy what we consider to be a little slice of heaven. brbrThe great room features several large windows looking straight out to the ocean cliffs. This room has a dining table and provides plenty of comfortable seating. The futon can be pulled out to allow for extra sleeping. The bedroom has a both a queen and a twin bed, and the loft room has two additional twin mattresses. brbrWake up to incredible sunrises, fall asleep to starry nights, and spend a whole day on the deck taking in the living ocean and the morning lobster boats at work. The cottage is located on historic Long Cove in which many of the cottages have been untouched or remodeled since they were built in the 1900's. Daily walks around the point give you different views of the ocean and cove, and the beautiful cottages offer sweet charm along the way. Easy access to the rocks from the deck allow guests to get right down to the water's edge. The cottage is tucked back off the main road for privacy and is the ideal spot for a few friends wanting to get away and have a quiet Maine experience. A full-size yard also offers space to spread out in front of the great window. brbrLong Cove beach is down the road and great for kayaking, swimming at the sandbar and crab hunting. Shaw's Lobster Wharf 1.5 mile away in New Harbor offers classic Maine fare. The Hardy Boat departs daily from the same wharf taking cruises to see Monhegan Island and other local sights. A day at sandy Pemaquid Beach with a stop at Pemaquid Lighthouse is also closeby.
