Thornwood cabin is a beautifully wood-crafted space that is easily accessible from the main driveway. This cabin offers a small living area with new queen size sleeper sofa, equipped with a small kitchen, as well as a loft that includes a queen-sized bed. It provides a private space within very close proximity to the Thornwood house. This will have all outside hookups to charge your fishing boat, perfect for those seasoned fisherman! This a cabin, so the bathroom is not inside the cabin, but is just a few steps off the deck. It is solely for this cabin, has just been remodeled. There is an outside entrance from the Thornwood house. This is a full functioning bathroom, with newly remodeled toilet and shower. There is solar lighting on the path to bathroom, flashlight is also hanging by the door if needed. The fire pit is just a few steps out back of the cabin, wood is available to purchase at a reasonable price. Note - we do rent both the Thornwood house and the cabin separately , so there may be other guest staying at the other location. br

For hiking or hunting enthusiasts, there are 1000+ acres of public land to explore in multiple directions of Lansing. brMt. Hosmer lookout has hiking trails and two river view lookouts! The view is absolutely amazing! A must-see for everyone. There are restrooms, picnic areas, and a playground there as well.brPrairie Du Chien and LaCrosse, WI are both a 45-minute drive away for other exploration opportunities. brbrAnd if trout fishing is your aim you should also check out some of the finest coldwater trout streams anywhere: Lansing Clear Creek at Clear Creek Park (only about a 2 minute drive from the cabin; 1972 South Road on the west edge of town); Wexford Creek (1416 Great River Road) and the French Creek Wildlife Area to name a few. Check with the DNR to find which area streams are stocked on a regular basis. brbrThere are two boat landings if the Mississippi is your destination. Both are about a 5-10 minute drive from the cabin and we have plenty of parking on-site for multiple boats. brbrIf you’re looking for something different, we also have another property that overlooks the Mississippi River high atop the bluff located just across the river near Desoto, WI.
